Robert James Cummings, Sr., Born August 9, 1927 Passed Away July 27, 2010. Married to Elsie (Dolly) for over 57 years until her death on December 29, 2009. Bob worked at several locations while growing up in the Detroit and Northville area. He worked at the Maybury Sanitarium, Northville Record as a type setter and Printing Press Operator, Hi Speed Gas Station, Daisy BB Gun Plant in Plymouth, MI and moved with Daisy to Rogers, AR, where he was the Supervisor of the Leather Dept. He moved back to Michigan and worked for Ford Motor Co. as a Foreman in several local plants in the area for 25 years before retiring. He was a WW II, US Marine Corps Veteran who served in the Phillipines. He was a member of Northville VFW Post 4012, American Legion Post 147 and a member of the Marine Corps League Northwestern Chapter. He graduated in 1946 from St. Rose Catholic High School in Detroit. He is survived by his children Robert Jr., Scott, Frank ( Sue ) Rodocker and Marcia ( Rodocker ) Weaver; Along with 6 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and two siblings, Coralie Pasanski and Michael ( Joan ) Cummings. Visitation will be 11 AM Thursday, July 29, 2010 at the Northrop-Sassaman Funeral Home, 19091 Northville Road ( at Seven Mile ) Northville until time of services at 1 PM followed by a procession to Rural Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Disabled American Veterans wqould be appreciated.
