  Mr. Ronald D. Davis, age 81, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017 at the home of his daughter in Virginia.  The son of the late David and Virginia (Piesik) Davis, he was born on August 3, 1936 in Bay City.  Ron served his country first in the U.S. Air Force and retired from the U.S. Navy.  He then worked for 17 years at Do-All Inc., retiring as manager.  Ron and Patricia moved to Ogemaw County in 1993 where he was a member of the West Branch Moose Lodge, American Legion and Fleet Reserve Associates.

 

  On November 9, 1957, Ron was united in marriage to the former Patricia M. Stender and they shared their lives together for over 58 years until Patricia passed away on June 20, 2016.  He is survived by a daughter: Patrice Davis (Robert Monroe) of VA; son-in-law: Raymond Jones; three grandchildren: Sara Wagner, Thomas Jones, and Tiffany Jones; two brothers: Richard (Lois) Davis and Donald (Ruth) Davis; a sister: Gloria (Clarence) Moore; three brothers-in-law: Bill (Bonnie) Stender, Jr., Marilyn (David) Schram and Clare (Roy) Ancel; and several nieces and nephews.  Ron was also predeceased by a son: Ronald D. Davis, II; a daughter: Andrea Jones; and a sister, Betty Ramsden.

 

  The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Friday, September 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at All Saints Parish (St. James Church), 710 Columbus Ave.  Ron will lie in state in the church chapel Friday after 10:00 a.m.  Fr. Stephen J. Fillion will preside.  Private interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Helping Hands, West Branch or to American Cancer Society.  Visiting hours are Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at the W.
