Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother passed peacefully into heaven on Thursday, September 21, 2017.  Margaret had a deep and abiding faith in Jesus Christ.  She was born on January 15, 1931 to the late Oscar and Lydia Link.  Margaret graduated from Reese High School and went on to complete a diploma nursing program at Saginaw General Hospital School of Nursing.  She worked for 37 years as a registered nurse in many areas of the hospital; as a newborn nursery nurse, pediatric nurse, medical-surgical nursing supervisor and industrial nurse for General Motors.  She loved every moment.  Margaret married Eldor Hetzner in Reese, MI on October 24, 1953, and they were married for 59 years.  He predeceased her in December 2012.  Along with her nursing career, Margaret enjoyed arts and crafts, reading newspapers and magazines, traveling around the world, spending time with her family at the cottage in AuGres and wintering at the condominium in Lakeland, Florida.  Margaret was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church in Frankenmuth.


Margaret is survived by her daughter Jayne (Kurt) Heringhausen of Midland; her son, Tom (Coleen) Hetzner of Frankenmuth; granddaughters Julie (Ben) Mervak, Jennifer (Joshua) Plaggemars, Jill (Michael) Gibbons, Kate Hetzner; great-grandson Dax Gibbons; 2 brothers, Oscar N. (Eleanor) Link of Birmingham and Robert R. (Mary) Link of Roscommon; sisters-in-law Joyce Link and Rose Hetzner, and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by one brother, Carl D. Link.


Funeral services will take place on Monday, September 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church with Rev. Mark Brandt officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery in Frankentrost.   Margaret’s family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home on Sunday, September 24 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., as well as at the church for one hour before the start of the service.  Per Margaret’s wishes, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the St. Lorenz Connect Praise Ensemble in lieu of flowers.
