Margaret (Peg) Jane Sullivan, 84 years of Coleman, died early Tuesday morning, October 10, 2017 at Bickford Cottage. She was born on September 18, 1933 in Midland, daughter of the late John and Alta (Phetteplace) Davenport.

 

Peg attended Midland schools, graduating from Midland High School, in 1951. On July 14 of that same year she married Hugh Sullivan in Midland. He preceded her in death on August 28, 2009. Peg had worked at The Dow Chemical Company in the tax department, retiring from there in 1992. She had served as Geneva Township Supervisor. She enjoyed knitting, bingo and going to the casino. She was a long time member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sanford. Peg, her husband Hugh and family were involved with the racing and raising of race horses, quarter horses and thoroughbreds.

 

She is survived by two sons, Ronald (Angela) Sullivan, Jeffery (Kathy) Sullivan; one daughter, Laurel (Mike) Andrezjewski all of Coleman; grandchildren, Justin and Melisa Wentz, Jessica Sullivan, Jonathan Wentz, and Joshua Taryn Wentz; greatgrandchildren, Kylie, Tyler, Christopher, Mason, and Rylynn; one brother, Charles Davenport Of Mundelein, IL; one sister-in-law, Pat McMullin of Midland. In addition to her parents and husband, Peg was preceded in death by two sons, Robert and Timothy Sullivan and one brother, Harry Welch.

 

Funeral services will take place on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 11 a.m. from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sanford. Pastor Samuel Reith will officiate with burial in Midland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Peg’s family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 W. Wheeler Street, on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the charity of their choice in Peg’s memory.
