Survived By: his wife Dixie Lee (Burgess) whom he married February 5, 1999, and children: Elizabeth Musselman, Norman Vinson, Beverly (Craig) Werner, Jan (William) Henry, Kevin (Shari) Prince, Dawn (Ronnie) Guariglia, Ken Shauger and Christine Shauger Moore. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brothers Larry (Barb) Prince, William (Karen) Prince, Robert (Darlene) Prince, step-sister Charlotte (Ed) Pinnow and sister-in-law Polly Prince.

Ernest Albert Prince, 80 of Midland, died Tuesday morning, October 10, 2017 at his home.  He was born December 21, 1936 in Midland, son of the late Ernest J. and Dorothy (Sian) Prince.

 

Ernest attended Gordonville School and later served his country in the U.S. Army in Germany from February 1955 to September 1957.  He enjoyed watching Nascar, watching his children and grandchildren play sports, and was a fan of all Michigan sports teams.

 

Ernest is survived by his wife Dixie Lee (Burgess) whom he married February 5, 1999, and children: Elizabeth Musselman, Norman Vinson, Beverly (Craig) Werner, Jan (William) Henry, Kevin (Shari) Prince, Dawn (Ronnie) Guariglia, Ken Shauger and Christine Shauger Moore.  He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brothers Larry (Barb) Prince, William (Karen) Prince, Robert (Darlene) Prince, step-sister Charlotte (Ed) Pinnow and sister-in-law Polly Prince.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife B. Jane Prince, a daughter Jackie Woods, a granddaughter Erica Musselman and by brothers Ronald and Dan Prince.

 

Funeral services for Ernest will take place 11 a.m. Friday, October 13, 2017 from the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 West Wheeler Street.  Pastor Jacob Behnken of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will officiate with interment to follow in Homer Cemetery.  Ernest’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of the service.  Rather than flowers the family asks memorials be directed to MidMichigan Home Care, the charity of one’s choice, or to please consider donating plasma.
