Survived By: her sister Marilyn (Don) Baublitz, sisters-in law Dawnette Gooding, Diane (Robert) Perkins; nephews James (Lisa) Abbey, Dr. Kenneth (Jennifer Swendsen) Abbey; step children Howard III (Lynne) Johnson, Theresa (Jessie) Hoppus, Ed Johnson, Ben (Tabatha) Chutes, Lori Hopkins, step daughter-in-law Tina Johnson, great nephew Dr. Nicholas Abbey, and great niece Caitlyn Abbey. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald Chutes, husband Howard Johnson, step-sons John Johnson and Allen Chutes.

Kathleen Ann Chutes, 67, of Reese, died Sunday evening, October 8, 2017, at the University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor.  She was born December 20, 1949, in Saginaw, the daughter of Earl and Irene (McPhersen) Bauman.

 

She graduated from Reese High School with the class of 1967.  She grew up on the family farm and enjoyed helping her father with the farm.  She loved music, cross stitch, participating in mission trips and traveling.  Kathleen graduated from the Delta College of Nursing in 1970.  She spent most of her career in the care and delivery of babies.  She had a life of devotion and love of Jesus.  Her family and friends were the most important things in her life.

 

She is survived by her sister Marilyn (Don) Baublitz, sisters-in law Dawnette Gooding, Diane (Robert) Perkins; nephews James (Lisa) Abbey, Dr. Kenneth (Jennifer Swendsen) Abbey; step children Howard III (Lynne) Johnson, Theresa (Jessie) Hoppus, Ed Johnson, Ben (Tabatha) Chutes, Lori Hopkins, step daughter-in-law Tina Johnson, great nephew Dr. Nicholas Abbey, and great niece Caitlyn Abbey.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald Chutes, husband Howard Johnson, step-sons John Johnson and Allen Chutes.

 

Funeral services will take place at 10:30 am, Saturday, October 14, 2017, at the Living Waters Chapel, 650 S. Hooper Street, Caro, with burial in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  Kathleen’s family will receive friends at the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw Street, Reese, on Friday from 4-8 pm, and at the church on Saturday from 9:30 am until time of services.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Reese Baptist Church, Living Waters Youth Pastor Fund, Reese Fire Rescue or Gideon Bibles.
