Frank Maul passed away peacefully October 19, 2017 at Union Court in St. Charles. Age 93 years. Born August 15, 1924 in Saginaw, Michigan. He was the beloved husband of Glenrose (Cleveland) Maul. They were married for 63 years. Glenrose predeceased him on September 30, 2011 at age 84.

After serving in the US Navy during World War II, Frank worked for AT Ferrell, constructing machinery for grain separating. Frank built the first family home in Saginaw Township where he and Glenrose raised six children. Frank’s interests included a lifetime of coin collecting, woodworking, gardening, planting trees and building elaborate terraced landscaping and flowering gardens with his wife after retirement.

As a teenager, Frank learned about forestry in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in Northern Michigan. Frank was an avid outdoorsman with great enthusiasm for hunting and fishing accompanied by his sons, Bob and Dan. He enjoyed an active life, biking, walking daily, couples bowling league, listening to the Detroit Tigers baseball by radio and singing in church.

Frank loved to visit the Michigan Great Lakes with family fun vacations taken at many state parks where they canoed on rivers, swam, did siteseeing and had homemade picnics.

In retirement, Frank and Glenrose moved to Traverse City where they built two homes. They continued to travel together on long road trips across the USA including Reno and Denver where daughters Mary and Nancy live. They even drove to Alaska!

Frank is survived by children Julie, Mary, Dan (Nan) and Nancy (Bob). 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter Barbara and son Robert, and his brother Joe.

Frank will be held dear in our memory as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was known by all as a hard worker, a good neighbor, devout in his faith and a lifelong member of the Catholic Church. With love and honor we wish Dad peace in Heaven.

The family gives special thanks to the incredible loving caregivers at Union Court. Their extraordinary care and love to Frank and family will never be forgotten. Also a special thanks to A&D Hospice Care who so gently helped Frank and family on his last journey.
