Anderson, Robert Frank 3/5/1936 - 11/2/2017 Higgins Lake, MI Surrounded by his family, Robert "Bob" Anderson passed away peacefully November 2, 2017, in Grand Rapids, MI. Bob was a family man and an avid outdoorsman. He loved sports and outdoor activities and spent hours teaching his children, and later his grandchildren, how to ski, golf, boat and tube around Higgins Lake for countless hours. For 14 years, Bob took hunting trips out West. Each year, Bob would load his wife Eloise ("Sandy") and the four kids up in the Suburban, hitch up the Airstream and head across the country for adventure. Bob loved to fish and hunt with his family, and he shared his passion for the woods and the ecology of Higgins Lake. Bob was born in Bay City to Frank and Agnes Anderson on March 5, 1936. He was a graduate of Bay City Central High School, GMI, and earned a Master's Degree from the University of Michigan. Bob and the former Eloise Quaderer were married on August 22, 1959, in Maple Grove. For 42 years, Bob worked for General Motors, starting at Bay City Chevrolet, and retiring from Grey Iron Foundry in 1998. During his working years, Bob was involved with Junior Achievement and the United Way. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Auburn and later St. Hubert Parish in Higgins Lake.

Bob is survived by his wife of 58 years, Eloise Anderson, his only sister Arlene (Tom) LeMay of Cadillac, MI; daughter Carol (Tom) Foss of Colorado Springs, CO; son Steve (Dana) Anderson of Caledonia, MI; daughter Gail (Tom) Schwartz of Caledonia; son David (Teressa) Anderson of Mattawan. Bob cherished his grandchildren Jordan, Lindsay, Brad (Sarah), Jake (Breanna), Megan, Aly, Liz, Lauren, and Steven, as well as his extensive extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be held Saturday, November 11, 2017 at St. Hubert Parish in Higgins Lake, Michigan. Visitation will be at 9:00 am, with a funeral mass at 11:00am, followed by a luncheon. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or to St. Hubert Parish. Envelopes will be available at the service.
