Lorraine Bergeron (Wendling/Princing)
Pinconning, Michigan

Someone once said that a beautiful soul is never forgotten. With this in mind, the spirit and heart of Lorraine Bergeron surely will live on forever. Lorraine, who was so much to so many, died peacefully on December 9, 2017, surrounded by loved ones at her home in Pinconning. She was 80 years old. Lorraine was born in Saginaw to the late Herbert and Margaret (Back) Wendling. Many knew her as Lorraine Wendling or Lorraine Princing. She was predeceased by her husband, William Bergeron, in 2005. Lorraine held many different roles in life – from sister, friend and wife, to mom, grandma, grammy and mimi. But she spent most of her days being a fan. A fan of her grandchildren as they stepped into a batter’s box, raced around a track, wrestled in the ring or dribbled down the court. A fan of the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers. A fan of the Pinconning Spartans and the Michigan State Spartans. And, for anyone who ever heard the distinct ring of that meticulously painted cowbell from the stands, you knew she was there for you. As a school volunteer and foster mom, Lorraine always found a way to make the world a little bit better. She served on the Garfield Township Election Board and as PTA president at Garfield Fraser Elementary School. She also spent many years working in the cafeteria at Central Elementary School and is remembered as a friendly face during her time working at The Silver Derby. Lorraine had a passion for painting ceramics, a gift for creating Christmas sugar cookies, and a love for celebrating all holidays. Whether it was the way she held your hand or showered you with kisses, she knew how to make you feel loved.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Ron (Karla) Princing, Sherry (Don) Protasiewicz, David Princing, Diane (Dean) Palmer and Darrel Princing, and a special stepdaughter, Teri (Dan) Fryzel; grandchildren, Paul (Kristina) Protasiewicz, Megan (Josh) Kozubal, Rachel (Jordan) Hopkins, Corey (Rachel) Palmer, Kasper (Dave) Patterson, Kendra (Will) Landon and Katlin (Ashley) Kowalczyk; several great-grandchildren, Tyler, Wyatt, Emerson, Gabriella, James, Elizabeth, CJ, Cassidy, Landon, Oliver, Shirley, Anabel and Lincoln; and several nieces and nephews. She's also survived by her brothers and sisters, Beverly Helm, Carolyn Rashott, Herbert Wendling, Edward (Aleta) Wendling, Mel (Benita) Carrier, Frank (Judy) Carrier, Pat (George) Montgomery and Jessie (Chris) Borchardt; stepbrothers, James (Star) Carrier and Dean (Sue) Carrier; and special friend Eunice Ballard. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Sonny Wendling, Roger Wendling, Jake Wendling and James Kerr; and stepfather, Millard Carrier.Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 12, from 1 to 8 p.m., at Lee-Ramsey Funeral Home (107 E. 2nd St., Pinconning).
