McInnis, John 8/17/1947 - 12/8/2017 Lake Havasu City, Arizona John Joseph McInnis "Papa" Of Lake Havasu City, Arizona formally from Bridgeport, Michigan. John passed away suddenly and peacefully at his home in Arizona on Friday morning, December 8th at the age of 70 years old. John was born on August 17,1947 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late William and Betty (Pettit) McInnis. He worked at the Saginaw Newspaper for many years, then retired from the Medical Imaging field in 2012. After moving to Arizona, John and Nora summered at Sandy Pines campground near Hopkins, Michigan. John married Nora Smith on December 14, 1968. He was predeceased by Neil and Ruby Smith. John was a volunteer fireman in Bridgeport, Michigan for 20 years, a Ham Radio operator, a paragliding pilot, enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a jack of all trades. He traveled the world for both work and pleasure. John will be sadly missed by many co-workers, neighbors, and friends from around the world. John is survived by his wife Nora of 49 years, daughters Zenda (Paul) Narvaiz, Cheyleen (Todd) McInnis, grandchildren Anthony (Amy) Narvaiz, Courtney(Garry) Palmer, Britney (Dan) McInnis, Sabrina Narvaiz, two great grandchildren, Emery Palmer and Carson Narvaiz. John leaves behind his brother William (AJ) McInnis, sister Sharon (Don) Raasch, and brother Michael (Linda) McInnis, and Many nieces, and nephews. John and Nora hosted four exchange students from around the world. Jeanette and Maria from Ecuador, Frauke from Sweden, Anna Marie from Holland, and Tapio from Finland. John was a devoted U of M and Detroit Lions fan and his famous quote "I'm just resting my eyes!" Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be spread in places he loved.
