Carl D. Blanck, 79 of Midland, died Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Colonial Villa.  He was born April 21, 1938 in Oroville, California, son of the late Howard and Kathleen (Fishtorn) Blanck. After graduating from Midland High School, Carl enlisted in the United States Army. Upon his discharge from his military obligation, Carl went to work for Chrysler in the Detroit area.  He spent 20 years living in North Carolina before moving back to Midland 3 years ago.  Carl enjoyed fishing and was an avid auto enthusiast.

 

He is survived by his daughter Debbie of Midland, brother Keith (Janine) Blanck of Midland, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his daughter Dawn and his sister Cheryl Muller.   The family wishes to acknowledge Colonial Villa for providing Carl with a home and family environment for the last three years.  The family also wishes to thank Hometown Hospice for their recent care.

 

Visitation for Carl will take place Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. from the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 West Wheeler Street.  Military Honors will be presented by the Midland Area Veterans and the United States Department of the Army. Private family interment will follow in Midland Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the donor’s favorite charity.
