BRABANT, Arthur R. – of Burt, age 98, beloved father, grandfather, great- grandfather, and great-great grandfather, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at his residence surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held 11AM Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church of Taymouth. 12517 Morseville Rd., in Birch Run. Pastors Scott Kroener and Ted McCulloch officiating. Burial at Pine Grove Cemetery in Albee Twp. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run on Monday from 2PM until 8PM and at the church on Tuesday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Taymouth.  

 Art was born December 7, 1919 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Louis and Winifred (Adams) Brabant. He married the love of his life, Opal Irene Aldridge in April 11, 1942. She preceded him in death December 3, 1991. Mr. Brabant lived in Albee Twp., his entire life as a farmer. Art was also the former Albee Twp., Supervisor, Fire Chief, and served on the Chesaning School Board. He was the oldest member of First Presbyterian Church of Taymouth as well as in Albee Twp. He enjoyed restoring furniture, collecting antiques, puzzles, and painting. Art was a kind, giving man who was loved by many.

 Surviving are: Sons: Gary Brabant (special friend, Peg Doutre), and Tom (Laura) Brabant; Daughters: Diane (Mark) Hammond, Nona (Fred) Graham, and Kim (Dennis) Gray; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; Brother, Wally Brabant; Sister, Jean Krupp; Many nieces, nephews, and other loving family members. Art was also preceded in death by his great-grandson, Seth Brabant; Brother, Edward Brabant; Sisters: Lucille Laraby, and Betty Lou Brabant.
