Lorraine Elizabeth Wackerle nee Heitzig age 91, passed away peacefully in her sleep Friday, January 19, 2018 at the Carriage House in Bay City, Michigan. Lorraine was born on March 14, 1926 to Harold and Matilda Heitzig. She married Samuel Frederick Wackerle on September 24, 1947, to this union were born, Gregory, Renee, Thomas, Allen and Scott. Lorraine was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. She enjoyed music and loved to sing, she loved spending time with her sisters, children, grandchildren and her many friends. Visiting with her friends on her egg route was a highlight for her as well. Lorraine is survived by her children; Gregory (Carol) Wackerle, Thomas (Kimberly) Wackerle, Allen (Stephanie) Wackerle and son-in-law Clinton Strawn, 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Sisters, Eloise Lisk, Joan Milatello, sisters in law Ruth Wackerle and Gloria Wackerle. She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Wackerle, son Scott Wackerle, daughter Renee Strawn, sister Lois Sullivan and brother in laws, Bud Sullivan, Harold Lisk and Phil Milatello.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 11 am at the Apostolic Christian Church with the clergy of the church presiding with burial in the church cemetery. Friends and relatives may visit at the Rivertown Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, from 4 to 8 pm. On Thursday, Lorraine will lie in state at the church from 10 am until the time of services. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy are suggested to consider the Apostolic Christian church of Bay City. The family would like to express a special Thank you to the staff at the Carriage House for their exceptional compassionate care that was given to our mother.
