Survived By: her children: Joyce DuBois, Phillip DuBois & Abbie Finney, Martin & Nancy Benaway all of Midland, Paul DuBois of Coleman, Sandy Benaway of Burton and Thomas & Phyllis Benaway of Columbia, TN; twelve grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren; sisters Margaret Hupman of Midland and Ruth Spurr of Portage.

ROMANS 14:8 – For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.

 

Doris Jean DuBois, 91 of Midland, passed away Monday, February 5, 2018 in the loving care of her caretakers at Kindy Care Center.  Doris spent much of her life helping others through the ministry of the Open Door one of the original volunteers eventually becoming the director.  She was recently recognized for that service by the board of directors.    She is survived by her children: Joyce DuBois, Phillip DuBois & Abbie Finney, Martin & Nancy Benaway all of Midland, Paul DuBois of Coleman, Sandy Benaway of Burton and Thomas & Phyllis Benaway of Columbia, TN; twelve grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren; sisters Margaret Hupman of Midland and Ruth Spurr of Portage.  Doris was preceded in death by her husband Barton DuBois, son Charles Benaway, daughter Nancy Brennen, brothers: Tom, George, Louie, Frank, Raymond and Richard Horton. 

 

Funeral services for Doris will take place 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2018 from the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 West Wheeler Street.  Pastor Mitzi Nimmo will officiate with interment to take place in Midland Cemetery.  Doris’ family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. on Monday and again on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until time of the service.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Open Door of Midland.
