Richard Neil Roslund Sr.

 

Age 83, of St. Louis, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the Schnepp Senior Care and Rehab Center in St. Louis.

 

Rich was born December 18, 1934 in Hazel Park, the son of Herman and Willmetta (Seidell) Roslund. He graduated from St. Louis Schools. Rich served in the National Guard. He married Shirley Easlick on June 12, 1955 in Farwell. He owned and operated Roslund Gravel Company. Rich was a member of the St. Louis Church of Christ, Jaycee’s and Gleaner’s. Rich served as a deacon, elder and Sunday school teacher at the church. He enjoyed driving tractors and heavy equipment, watching the Tigers, and playing sports. Rich loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

 

He is survived by his wife Shirley, children Rick (Roxann) Roslund, Kim (Ernie) Essex, Michael (fiancée Christine Eimers), grandchildren Rich (Meg), Victoria, Amanda (fiancé Terry), Jesse (fiancée SaRae), Rachel, Michael Lee, Tabitha, Brodrich, Abi, 7 great grandchildren, siblings Dolores (Howard) Comstock, Kathy Johnston, David (Marge) Roslund, James “Jack” Roslund and many nieces and nephews.

 

Rich was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Laurie Ann Roslund and a brother Martin Roslund.

 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 12 pm at the St. Louis Church of Christ with Pastor Keith Wise officiating. Interment will be in Emerson Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 4 to 7 pm at the Lux-Moody-Wolfel Funeral Home, Alma and Saturday from 10 am until time of service at the church.
