Gettel, Daniel “Dan” Robert of Saginaw Township, Michigan

Beloved brother, uncle, companion and friend passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 16, 2018 at his home, due to complications from a brief illness. He was 66 years old. Dan was born on April 26, 1951 in Pigeon, Michigan to the late Wilmer and Delma (Phillips) Gettel. He attended high school in Owendale and graduated from Garber High School in Essexville with the class of 1969. Following graduation, he was employed at General Motors for 10 years as a machine operator at their Bay City location. Dan then became licensed in real estate and became a broker. He also worked for McDonald Pontiac Cadillac for 20 years prior to owning and operating Gettel Automotive. Dan was extremely proud of owning his 1962 white Corvette. He enjoyed working on cars and occasionally going out on motorcycle rides. Above all he loved and cherished his family, especially spending time at his cabin on Henderson Lake. He will forever be remembered for his kindness, his easy going spirit and his wonderful sense of humor.
