Beloved father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 17, 2018 in the comfort of his home, following a long battle with cancer. Following graduation, Ron proudly enlisted in the United States Army, serving from 1972 through 1985 before being honorably discharged as a sergeant. He also served as a volunteer firefighter for the City of Zilwaukee. Ron enjoyed playing Santa Claus throughout the years. He fondly recalls the first time in 1973, he was stationed in Germany and he paid another service member to cover his shift so he could go to an orphanage and pass out presents to children with measles. He was a gregarious guy, full of life and had a heart of gold. Above all, Ron loved and cherished his family, especially spending time with his daughter, Michaela.

“I didn't get to know Ron as well as I would have liked but I enjoyed being his trainee and quickly developed respect and admiration for him. I could see his character. He reminded me of John Wayne.
