Judith D. Gordon, 75, of Verona Township, passed away on March 5, 2018 at Huron Medical Center.


She was born in Ubly, Michigan on September 27, 1942 to the late Robert and Evelyn Allen. 


Judy graduated from Ubly High School in 1960.


On June 9, 1962, she married the love of her life, William (Bill) Gordon.  He preceded her in death on February 12, 2001.


She was known as the neighborhood second mom (Ma Gordon).  She was a book-keeper for Cooks T.V. and worked for Wash King.  In her younger years, she loved to bowl and play Bingo.  She loved horses, cooking and hosting dinners and cook-outs for all her family, friends and neighbors.  Her favorite hang-out spot was at the Verona Tavern.


She was a very generous, loving person and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.


Judy is survived by her sons: Steve Gordon and his wife, Lisa, of Dexter, Michigan; Kirk Gordon and his wife, Praema, of Milan, Michigan; and William (Billy) Gordon and his wife, Jonna, of Waterford, Michigan; her daughters: Lisa McKenzie and her husband, Hugh, of McKinney, Texas and Michelle (Mickey) Smalley of Bad Axe; her grandchildren: Ryan McKenzie, Abby, Joe, Ben, Meghan, Bethany, Noah and Seth Gordon and Madelyn and Ethan Smalley.  She is also survived by her brother Paul Allen and her sisters, Ruth Ann Puvaloski, Charlene Stanton and Elaine Lester; and her sister-in-law, Jeri (Dennis) Sharpe; along with many nieces and nephews. 


She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Allen; her sister, Carol Allen and her father & mother-in-law, Vinton (Meryl) Gordon and her brother-in-law, Arthur (Delores) Gordon. 


Funeral service for Judith will be 11 a.m. on Friday, March 9, 2018 at the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Bad Axe.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at the MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Burial will take place in the spring at Verona Township Cemetery.


Memorials may be offered to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the Family Discretionary Fund
