Survived By: Surviving is a son Mark (Melissa Bukoski) Tackman Sr., her beloved grandson Mark Anthony Tackman Jr., and Cheryl's father David U. Terry Sr., siblings: David (Barb) Terry Jr., Sheila (Merle) Karr and Robert (Roberta) Terry, half-sister Shayna Terry and nieces and nephews. Cheryl was predeceased by her mother Bernadine Todd.
Affiliations: Cheryl retired after more than 15 years of dedicated service from the State of Michigan as a Corrections Officer at the Chippewa Correctional Facility in Kincheloe, Michigan. She had a heart of gold and was always eager to help anyone in need. Cheryl often put everyone else first on her priority list before herself. Her family will miss all of her caring traits and her talent for gardening, cooking, baking and love for animals. Cheryl also enjoyed reading a good book for some down time. One of her most joyous occasions was the arrival of her beautiful grandson Mark Anthony Tackman Jr. He gave her that sparkle in her eye every time they were together.

     Our generous, thoughtful and loving mother, grandmother, daughter and sister passed away peacefully Tuesday morning March 6, 2018 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper, age 60.  The daughter of David U. and Bernadine Mae (Sampsell) Terry, Sr. she was born October 31, 1957 in Newberry, Michigan.  Cheryl retired after more than 15 years of dedicated service from the State of Michigan as a Corrections Officer at the Chippewa Correctional Facility in Kincheloe, Michigan.  She had a heart of gold and was always eager to help anyone in need.  Cheryl often put everyone else first on her priority list before herself.  Her family will miss all of her caring traits and her talent for gardening, cooking, baking and love for animals.  Cheryl also enjoyed reading a good book for some down time.  One of her most joyous occasions was the arrival of her beautiful grandson Mark Anthony Tackman Jr.  He gave her that sparkle in her eye every time they were together.
