Survived By: Surviving family include his eight step-children and many grandchildren; his siblings, Barbara (Robert) Woodburn, Dixie Johnson, Bruce (Gladys) Hall, Jerome (Diana) Hall, DeWayne (Linda) Hall, Greg (Peggy) Hall, Pastor Timothy (Lori) Hall and Deborah Atkinson; as well as many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his special caregivers, Michelle "Mitch", Holly, Natalle and Kelly.

David Drew Hall, age 69 years, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, March 14, 2018, surrounded by his family and friends.  He was born on July 29, 1948 in Omer, Michigan the son of the late DeWayne and Donabelle Blanche (Carigan) Hall.  Dave served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in February of 1971.  He would come home to work in his father’s business, Hall’s Refrigeration.  Upon his father’s retirement Dave would continue the business as Dave’s Refrigeration.  Dave was a very passionate supporter and president of the Vassar High School Band Boosters for many years.  He eventually turned his heart and passion to the City of Vassar Fire Department.  Dave taught Fire Prevention in the schools for 20 years and was a state Fire Instructor.  He was currently an active and loyal member of the Vassar Fire Department after 24 years.

 

Surviving family include his eight step-children and many grandchildren; his siblings, Barbara (Robert) Woodburn, Dixie Johnson, Bruce (Gladys) Hall, Jerome (Diana) Hall, DeWayne (Linda) Hall, Greg (Peggy) Hall, Pastor Timothy (Lori) Hall and Deborah Atkinson; as well as many nieces and nephews.  Also surviving are his special caregivers, Michelle “Mitch”, Holly, Natalle and Kelly.

 

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the Penzien-Steele Funeral Home, 149 N. Main St. in Vassar.  Pastor Timothy M. Hall, Sr. officiating.  Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.  The family will greet friends on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Those desiring may make contributions to the wishes of the family.
