Also surviving are her two brothers-in-law; Robert Kischnick and Robert Hadaway and her sister-in-law; Esther Mossner.
Affiliations: Mae was employed for many years as a cashier at Melcheck's Grocery Store in Reese. She was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Richville.

Mae Ann Prueter, 79, of Reese, died Sunday afternoon, April 8, 2018 at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City. She was born May 14, 1938 in Saginaw, daughter of the late William and Florence (Krauter) Mossner. She attended Vassar schools. On October 6, 1961 she was married to Gary D. “Gus” Prueter in the St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Richville. He predeceased her August 6, 2011. Mae was employed for many years as a cashier at Melcheck’s Grocery Store in Reese. She was a member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Richville. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, being at her cabin in Rose City, gardening, traveling, going to garage sales and antiquing. Mae was well known for her baking skills, especially making her butter horns and pretzels.

 

Surviving are her children and their spouses; Keith and Barb Prueter of Essexville; Steve Prueter and Chrystal Berube of Reese; Dennis and Dawn Prueter of Reese; Kenny and Alyssa Prueter of Munger; and Shari and Wayne Bickel of Saginaw; five grandchildren; John and Andrew Prueter, Samantha and Danielle Prueter and A1C Kaitlynn Pietenpol-Prueter and one sister; Lenore “Lennie” Mossner of Reese. Also surviving are her two brothers-in-law; Robert Kischnick and Robert Hadaway and her sister-in-law; Esther Mossner. In addition to her parents and husband, Mae was predeceased by four brothers; Waldo, Adolph, Clarence, and Rudolph Mossner and four sisters; Verna Kischnick, Milda Keinath, Violet “Vi” Hadaway, and Elsie Enser.

 

Funeral Services will take at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2018 from the St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Richville. Reverend Wesley Gillaspie will officiate with Committal Services to follow in the St. Michael’s Cemetery. Mae’s family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw St. in Reese on Wednesday from 2-7 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the services. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Richville.
