Survived By: Surviving besides his wife Margaret are one daughter, two sons and their spouses, Ann Marie and Joe Wamback, Saginaw; Steven and Dawn Gonzales, Woodhaven; Michael Gonzales, Woodhaven; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Kyle (Lorenna), Braden and Javier; three great-grandchildren, Gia, Mya and Elijah; two brothers and two sisters and their families as well as many special nieces and nephews. Ralph was preceded in death by two brothers.
Affiliations: The son of the late Jose and Elisa (Nerio) Gonzales, Ralph was born December 22, 1936 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. He married Margaret Casarez, his loving wife of 57 years, on August 6, 1960. She survives him. Ralph was employed at General Motors for 35 years until his retirement. He was an active member of St. John Paul II Parish where he helped in many ways and especially loved being in the choir. Ralph was an avid fisherman and enjoyed being outdoors spending time with his many nieces and nephews.

 Beloved husband, father, grandfather passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018 at his home. Age 81 years. The son of the late Jose and Elisa (Nerio) Gonzales, Ralph was born December 22, 1936 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. He married Margaret Casarez, his loving wife of 57 years, on August 6, 1960. She survives him. Ralph was employed at General Motors for 35 years until his retirement. He was an active member of St. John Paul II Parish where he helped in many ways and especially loved being in the choir. Ralph was an avid fisherman and enjoyed being outdoors spending time with his many nieces and nephews.

 Ralph’s family extends their gratitude to his caregiver, Hannah Partlow, for her compassionate care, and the parish family of St. John Paul II for their prayerful support.

 Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2018 at St. John Paul II Parish-St. Josaphat Catholic Church, 469 Shattuck Road in Carrollton. Rev. Fr. James Bessert will officiate. Honoring Mr. Gonzales’ wishes, cremation will follow. There will be no visiting hours at the funeral home. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Sisters of St. Clare or St. John Paul II Parish.
