Passed away on April 30, 2018 at the age of 86 years at the Cartwright Hospice Center after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease.  He was born on November 12, 1931 to the late George R. Farrand and Helena E. Stewart Farrand in Iosco County, Michigan.

He served as an Elder with The Community of Christ, Saginaw, Michigan and was the publisher for the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 159 newsletter.  He graduated from Saginaw High School in 1950, earning a full scholarship to GMI Institute (which is now Kettering University). Midway Aircraft Carrier.  He worked at Grey Iron Foundry and then as a Senior Drafting Engineer, responsible for a substantial portion of the building of Nodular Iron Foundry, retiring from Nodular Iron in 1986.   He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, motorcycling, bowling, square dancing, flying aircraft, bridge, golf, and working on engines.  He completed construction of an experimental aircraft in his garage, which he constructed from a kit and flew in 2004, as it was his life’s dream to fly again.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joann Oswald Mock of 14 years; three daughters, Cynthia K. Collison, Diedre L. Miller, and Ariane K. (Richard) Jones-LaBelle; three grandsons, William K.C.
