Survived By: Fred is survived by his wife Beatrice (Western) Sobieray of Bad Axe whom he married September 1st, 1951. Fred is also survived by his son Russell Sobieray and his fiancee Diana Schwartz of Port Austin, daughter Debra Sobieray of Grand Rapids, 6 grandchildren: Brandon, Rachel, Tennille, Amanda, Kaitlin, and Sarah, as well as 5 great-grandchildren: Aerianna, Mahailey, Gabe. Ella, and Elijah.

Fred Sobieray, age 88, of Cass City, formerly of Bad Axe, passed away on Saturday May 12th, 2018. Fred passed away with hospice care, surrounded by his family in his home.

Fred was born on December 4th, 1929 in Hamtramck; son of the late Joseph and Valentina (Buckowieczka) Sobieray. Fred was drafted as a private in the U.S. armed forces in 1952 and stationed in Korea until 1954. He was popularly known as a servicemen to the community through his self owned and operated company, Fred’s Plumbing and Heating of Bad Axe, from 1972 to 1995.

Fred is survived by his wife Beatrice (Western) Sobieray of Bad Axe whom he married September 1st, 1951. Fred is also survived by his son Russell Sobieray and his fiancee Diana Schwartz of Port Austin, daughter Debra Sobieray of Grand Rapids, 6 grandchildren: Brandon, Rachel, Tennille, Amanda, Kaitlin, and Sarah, as well as 5 great-grandchildren: Aerianna, Mahailey, Gabe. Ella, and Elijah.

 Fred was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Joseph and Stanley Sobieray, 3 sisters: Sophie (Sally) Pasko, Alice Wintergerst, and Genevieve Peyerk, along with his grandson Ehren Peyerk.
