Survived By: Tom is survived by his loving wife, Martha Shelito of Caro; one daughter, Jennifer Shelito of Caro; one son, Trevor Shelito of Sturgis; two nieces, Denise Tolson and husband, David, and Barbara Grimes, all of Edgewater, Maryland; three nephews, Kevin Goody and wife, Sylvia, of Delta, Pennsylvania, Mike Shelito of Kentucky, and Gregory Shelito; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by three siblings, Rick Shelito, twins, Dennis Shelito and Deborah Shelito Benyo; and special Schnauzer, Gibbs.

Tomas Jay Shelito of Caro, age 60, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at St. Mary’s of Michigan in Saginaw. Tom was born March 29, 1958 in Caro, the son of the late Frederick and Betty (Lawrie) Shelito. He was united in marriage with the former Martha Cockerill on May 11, 2013 at the Caro Church of the Nazarene, where he was a member.  He was also a member of Gideon’s International. Tom was employed as a quality control engineer for many years. He enjoyed downhill skiing, golfing, hunting, tinkering with wood, and camping. 

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Martha Shelito of Caro; one daughter, Jennifer Shelito of Caro; one son, Trevor Shelito of Sturgis; two nieces, Denise Tolson and husband, David, and Barbara Grimes, all of Edgewater, Maryland; three nephews, Kevin Goody and wife, Sylvia, of Delta, Pennsylvania, Mike Shelito of Kentucky, and Gregory Shelito; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by three siblings, Rick Shelito, twins, Dennis Shelito and Deborah Shelito Benyo; and special Schnauzer, Gibbs.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the Caro Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Paul McNett officiating. In keeping with Tom’s wishes, cremation will follow the service. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
