Survived By: her son Edward 'Ed' Dombrowski of Bay City and her daughter JoAnne (Bill) Johnston of Auburn; grandchildren, Julie (Steve) Hart, Dawn Younglao, Amy (Tom) Sharrar and Sara (P.J.) Engelberts; great grandchildren: Dan (Michele) Johnston, Conner Hart, Brandon, Emilee and Ben Younglao, Cole and Drew Sharrar, Ryann and Jake Engelberts, one great, great granddaughter Aurora Johnston.

Dorothy M. Dombrowski, 97 of Midland, died Saturday evening, July 7, 2018 at the Carriage House Assisted Living in Bay City.  Dorothy was born February 10, 1921 in Flint, daughter of the late Fred and Lena (Hesch) LaFrenier.  On June 8, 1940 she married Stanley (Fred) Dombrowski and he preceded her in death on July 17, 2008.  Dorothy spent her youth in the Rhodes-Estey area where in 1939 she graduated from Edenville High School.  In 1950, she moved to Midland where she lived the rest of her life. 

 

Dorothy is survived by her son Edward ‘Ed’ Dombrowski of Bay City and her daughter JoAnne (Bill) Johnston of Auburn; grandchildren, Julie (Steve) Hart, Dawn Younglao, Amy (Tom) Sharrar and Sara (P.J.) Engelberts; great grandchildren: Dan (Michele) Johnston, Conner Hart, Brandon, Emilee and Ben Younglao, Cole and Drew Sharrar, Ryann and Jake Engelberts, one great, great granddaughter Aurora Johnston.

 

She was preceded in death by her brother Louis LaFrenier, sister and brother-in-law Louise and John Mathieson and daughter-in-law Mary Lou Dombrowski.

 

Funeral services for Dorothy will take place 11 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2018 from the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 West Wheeler Street.  Rev. Roger Stauffer will officiate with interment to follow in Midland Cemetery.  Dorothy’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9 a.m. until time of the service.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Humane Society of Bay or Midland Counties or to the donor’s favorite charity.
