Survived By: her husband Dale Sage of Reese; daughter, Amy (Ron) Prahin of Novi; Grandchildren: Allison, Michael & Emma Prahin all of Novi; one sister, Mary (George) Hatchard and one brother, David (Milinda) Bader, all of Reese. Also surviving is her sister-in-law, Renee (Al) Schmitzer of St John; nieces; Connie (Rick) Lorenzo of Morganton, NC & Kerri Bader of Reese; nephews; Geoff (Jaime) Hatchard & child Isaac of San Jose, CA & Charlie (Erica) Hatchard & children Fayeanne & Flynn of Jackson;. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her In-laws; James & Esther Sage; and brothers-in-law; Bill Sage & Robert Sage

Nancy Ann (Bader) Sage, passed away peacefully at the age of 69 with her family by her side, on July 7, 2018 at Brookdale North in Farmington Hills, MI, where she resided for the past two years, while living comfortably  battling Alzheimer’s disease.

Nancy was born on October 2, 1948 in Saginaw, daughter of the late Hank and Ruth (Kopischke) Bader of Reese, MI. She was the oldest of three children. Her siblings were Mary (Bader) Hatchard & David Bader. Nancy attended Trinity Lutheran School in Reese and then graduated from Reese High School in 1966. Nancy attended Western Michigan University. She then married Dale Sage on August 17, 1968. They had one child, Amy (Sage) Prahin. She was employed at Michigan Bell, as a service representative, and then Bader Bros in Reese as a bookkeeper. Nancy enjoyed being on the Reese Beautification committee. She volunteered at Trinity Lutheran Church & School in many different roles throughout the years. She also sang in the church choir. Nancy was also on the first After Prom Party committee for Reese High School. Nancy was always seen cheering on Amy at many sporting events.

Nancy’s big enjoyment in life was her grandchildren; Allison, Michael & Emma. She loved being a Grandma! She enjoyed spending time with them at Houghton Lake, where almost every weekend in the summer was spent together. She loved cheering for their soccer, swim or softball teams. It didn’t matter what they were doing, she wanted to be with them! Nancy also loved her pets! She believed in adopting her pets, which were treated just like a family members!

Traveling was a favorite pastime for Nancy & Dale. Her favorite vacation spot was Hawaii. They’ve traveled throughout the United States and Caribbean. They also spent their winters in Clearwater, FL. They enjoyed spending time on the beach and made many new friends through the local Moose Lodge.

Surviving is her husband Dale Sage of Reese; daughter, Amy (Ron) Prahin of Novi; Grandchildren: Allison, Michael & Emma Prahin all of Novi; one sister, Mary (George) Hatchard and one brother, David (Milinda) Bader, all of Reese. Also surviving is her sister-in-law, Renee (Al) Schmitzer of St John; nieces; Connie (Rick) Lorenzo of Morganton, NC & Kerri Bader of Reese; nephews; Geoff (Jaime) Hatchard & child Isaac of San Jose, CA & Charlie (Erica) Hatchard & children Fayanna & Flynn of Jackson;. Kyle (Sandy) Bader and children; Cassidy, Caylie, Colton of West Branch. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her In-laws; James & Esther Sage; and brothers-in-law; Bill Sage & Robert Sage

 

Funeral Services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from the Trinity Lutheran Church in Reese. Reverend Daniel Burhop and Vicar Timothy Sheridan will both officiate with Committal Services to follow in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Reese. Nancy’s family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw St. in Reese on Monday from 4-7 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the services. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Michigan Humane Society or Trinity Lutheran Church in Reese.
