Genny was actively involved in several organizations. She was a past member of the Columbiaville Women's Service League, served on the PTL, was a Girl Scout Leader and later became a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bay City. For many years, Genny worked beside her husband in the drugstore they owned in Columbiaville. In addition, she enjoyed traveling and felt fortunate that she had the opportunity to visit all 50 states. Genny participated on bowling teams in both Flint and Lapeer, earning several team championships. She also participated in golf leagues in Lapeer. Genny had a passionate love for the Detroit Tigers and the Michigan Wolverines, but the greatest love was for her family. She was a devoted wife, and amazing mother and the grandmother that all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren adored. Everyone who knew her knows she loved popcorn and anything purple.
