Thomas "Tom" Bernard Humpert, of East Tawas, formerly of Saginaw, passed away at his home early Wednesday morning, July 11, 2018, at 81 years of age.  Tom was born on July 20, 1936, in Saginaw to Raymond and Marie (Dukavic) Humpert.  After his high school graduation, Tom went to work in the fencing profession and learned the skills of the trade.  After receiving some experience Tom and his brother Terry ventured into a partnership starting a fence business which became Humpert Fence Company and through expansion evolved into Midland Fence Company.  Through diligence and hard work the business developed and after more than 30 years he decided to enjoy retirement in the East Tawas area.  He married his wife, Rosemary "Rosie" (Green) on September 29, 1989, and together the couple celebrated 28 years of marriage.  Tom loved listening and dancing to Polka music with Rosie.  He was an easygoing and sociable man and will always be remembered for his ability to make friends.  Tom enjoyed spending time watching wildlife from out his family room window but above all he truly cherished his family and would look forward to gathering and spending time together.  Tom was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas, a member of the Tawas Elks Lodge #2525, and a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #4217 in Hale.  He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.  Tom is survived by his wife, Rosie Humpert of East Tawas; Tom’s 3 children from a previous marriage; Tim (Linda) Humpert of Reese, Karen (Mitch) Peters of Saginaw, and Jill (Matthew) Pollard of Lupton; 1 brother, Terry Humpert of Oscoda; 3 sisters, Joni Hall of Fairgrove, Carole (Ron) Brown of Reese, and Ginny (Irv) DeRoche of Caro; and many step grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Marie Humpert; 2 brothers, Ted and Dick Humpert; and one sister, Diane Humpert.  Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas.  Tom's family will welcome friends at church Saturday morning before mass from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.  Those wishing to express their condolences through a memorial contribution are encouraged to make a donation to Holy Family Catholic Church as a reflection of Tom's love for the Lord.  An online guest registry is available at
