Pleasant.  Following Charles’ death when Ronald was six years old his mother married Ernest Buffington in 1959.  Ronald thought of Ernest as his father; and Ernest thought of Ronald as his son.  Ronald entered the U.S. Army in 1968 serving in the Vietnam War; he earned a Purple Heart Medal after being wounded in battle on June 9, 1970.  After his injury in Vietnam, Ronald came home and married the love of his life for 47 years, Julie Helpap on October 17, 1970.  Ronald had worked for the Saginaw Police Department; having the distinction as being the first civilian radio dispatcher.  He decided to return to school and enrolled in the Cooley Law School where he graduated with his law degree in 1985.  While attending law school, Ronald worked for Trans America Insurance as a Claims Office Manager.  Ronald retired from being a Lawyer in 2008; shortly thereafter he and Julie moved to Clare.  Ronald and his family had spent time in the Clare County area ever since he was a young child.  He loved woodworking and reading, having amassed a huge collection of books on various subjects.  He loved being with his family and friends; those that knew Ronald will remember him as being a loving and caring individual who took care of everyone.

Ronald is survived by his wife Julie; son Ron Chadwick Jr.; grandchildren Sophie Chadwick, Emrie Chadwick, Ian Chadwick and Josie Thompson; daughter Mylissa Creamer; his brother Charles Chadwick and a sister-in-law Joyce Chadwick.  Ronald was predeceased by his parents; siblings Benny (June) Chadwick, Richard Chadwick, Joanne Chadwick, Sally Chadwick, Jean Bellinger, Arlene Hassey, Helen Hassey and Robert Buffington; and his niece Jan Bellinger.
