Richard Leroy Stevens Sr., age 77 years, passed away unexpectedly with his son, Richard Jr., on Thursday morning, November 1, 2018.  He was born on October 9, 1941 in Bay City, the son of the late Richard and Margaret (Morrison) Stevens.  Richard was employed at General Motors and retired from Buick in 1993.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his Harley Davison.

 

Surviving family include his children, Mona Stevens, Tina Giddings and Robert (Melisa) Stevens; step-children, Carla LaRoche, Donald (Beth) LaRoche and Alicia (Shane) Rittenhouse and their families; grandchildren, Michael, Chasidy, and Heather Stevens, Ashley (Dan Raymond) Giddings, Donald Jr. (Allie) Giddings and Melissa Giddings, Shantelle, Shaylyn, Shyanne, Sharrisa and Gavin Stevens; great-grandchildren, Sierra, Nicole, Mackenzie, Logan, Zoie, Chason, Arianna, Arainna, Cole, Azelle, Michael Jr., Jesse, Jazzlyn, Jennessa, Andrea, Natalie, Kelsey, Ethan, Greyson, Oliver, Thea, Korbin and Kailee; a great-great-granddaughter, Sofia; a brother, James (Cindy) Stevens and his four-legged companion, Baby.

 

A memorial service will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Bridgeport, 2400 King Rd., Saginaw, Michigan 48601. Pastor Scott Cowling officiating.  The family will gather with friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.  A luncheon is being prepared immediately following the service.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Association.
