William "Bill" D. Adams

Age 71 of New Lothrop passed away on Friday, November 9, 2018 at his home.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Chesaning. The family will receive friends at the church that morning from 10:00am until the service.

Bill was born on November 10, 1946 to Donald Adams and Mary Singer in West Branch. He served in the National Guard from 1966 to 1973 and attended Delta College for Law Enforcement. Bill married Maryann on February 14, 2004 in Saginaw.

Most recently, Bill worked as the Deputy Chief of Staff for the State of Michigan Senator Roger Kahn, retiring in 2015. He was a former Chief of Police for the Village of Chesaning from 1974-1979 as well as the village's former Mayor from 1988-1994.

During his life, Bill was a talented musician and was inducted into the Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame in 2000. He had a lifelong love of animals, especially for his cat, Manny, and his dogs, Bob, Paco, and Jake. He was also an avid fan of Auburn University - War Damn Eagle!! Most of all, Bill loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Bill is survived by his wife, Maryann Adams; his son, Jeff (Heather) Adams; his daughter, Jenifer Jay (Brian) Wolcott; his step-children, Jamie, Adam, and Kristina; his grandchildren, Anna Grace, Mary Hunter, and Caroline Adams, Ian and Elle Wolcott, Mathew Amman, Lily and Ben Vaughn, and Alex and Ashlynn Read; and his brothers, Donald Adams Jr. and Dick Adams.

He is predeceased by his father, Donald (Florence) Adams Sr., and his mother, Mary (James) Garrett.
