Marguerite Ilene (Wirtz) Mueller, age 83, from Midland, passed away at home Friday, December 7th with her devoted husband, William holding her close.

Marguerite was born to William and Agnes (Gray) Wirtz on August 13th of 1935 in Midland, the fifth of 8 children. In 1956 she married her soul mate and they spent 62 fun, loving years together.  Besides her family, Marguerite’s passion in life was for her artwork, creating hundreds of paintings that have found homes across the country. After retirement, Marguerite and Bill had a business selling her painted items at shows all over Michigan. Marguerite gave back using her artistic gift by teaching painting to seniors, first at St Brigid, and then at the Sanford Senior Center. It brought her great joy to see her students explore their artistic talent, and she became dear friends with many of them.

In addition to her adoring husband, William, Marguerite has left many loved ones behind. Her children: Dan (Lauren) Mueller of Austin, Texas; Ken (Evelyn) Mueller of Lake Jackson, Texas; Philip (Terri) Mueller of Cedar Creek, Texas and Monica (Sean) Pardel of Midland. Grandchildren, Joshua Mueller and Brittney (Dennis) Krauth; Megan (Sarah) Mueller; Nicholas and Elizabeth Mueller; Mia, Sofia, Grace and Jocelyn Pardel. Siblings: Shirley (Ed) Chapman of Midland; Ramona (Curtis) Voges of Texas, Leo Wirtz of Midland and Betty Miller of Arizona. Four great-grandchildren, and many adored nieces and nephews.

Marguerite will also be missed by her “bonus” kids. The many children she watched daily over the years that became family that went home at night. Pretty sure she liked them more, especially Brian and Lisa Jaeger and Tom, Alex and Mary Rose Jones, whose mom, Mary Ann remained a very close friend to Marguerite.

Along with her parents, Marguerite was predeceased by her eldest son, Gregory Scott Mueller and her siblings Harold Wirtz, Veronica Kilburn, and Frances Schied.
