Our loving Mother, Nana, Sweetheart, Sister, Aunt and Friend passed from this life on Monday, January 21, 2019 surrounded by her family at Brian’s House following two courageous battles with Cancer. She was born on September 5, 1943 to the late Howard & Zelda (Sugden) Moore.  Arlene was a 1961 graduate of Pinconning High School. She married Gary VanTol December 14, 1968; he preceded her in death January 28, 1991.  Arlene worked in the property management field for several years & following Gary’s death went to work at Rivertown Funeral Chapel until her retirement in 2010. The past few years were spent traveling the countryside, building miles and memories with Carl on their motorcycle. She enjoyed people and could strike up a conversation with anyone and loved spending time with her family & friends.  Arlene will be remembered for her infectious smile and great sense of humor. She is survived by her Daughters and Sons-in-law: Dawn (Gene) Billie, Rhonda (Tony) Pena, Charlie (Ron) Fields, her Sweetheart & traveling companion:  Carl Neveau, Grandchildren:  Jessica (Tim) Bosley, Alyx Anderson, Chelsea (Kyle) Grigg, Jillian Billie, Connor Anderson, Great Grandchildren Silas, Tessa, brother: Dave Moore. sisters-in law: Rockie (John) Discher, Carol Schurtz, several nephews, nieces, cousins & friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also predeceased by her brother Tom Moore and Brother-in-law Terry VanTol.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 12 noon from the Rivertown Funeral Chapel with Pastor Joe Atchinson presiding with burial in St. Anne Cemetery. Friends may call at the Rivertown Funeral Chapel on Friday; from 2 to 8 pm. On Saturday, friends may call from 11 am until time of service. Arlene’s family would like to thank the staff of Brian’s House for their compassion and care of Arlene during her stay, and all the thoughts, prayers and cards from family and friends. In Lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Brian’s House; this facility was such a blessing to our family through some very difficult days.
