Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Lois Marie (Proulx) Berthiaume, 89 of Pinconning, MI, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Thursday March 14, 2019. Lois was born in Detroit on June 8, 1929, to the late Lottie (Borowski) and Joseph Proulx. She moved to Pinconning where she met and married Jack Berthiaume on September 2, 1946. Together they owned and operated Jack’s Drive-in and Pinconning Laundromat for many years, while raising 6 children. Lois was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, St. Anne’s Altar Society and the VFW Women’s Auxiliary. She was an avid reader, especially of biographies, enjoyed cooking and homemaking, watching classic old movies, and spending time with her much-loved family. She is survived by Jack, her husband of 73 years, and their six children; Bruce (Carol) Berthiaume, Kenneth (Cathy) Berthiaume, Jennifer (Mike) McNellis, Kim Szostak, Paulette (Tim) Macon and Dana (Holly) Berthiaume. Lois is also survived by 12 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, another Great Grandson expected in June, her sister Eleanor Byrne, sister-in-law Barbara Proulx, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and special friends. She was predeceased by her beloved brother, Joseph “Guy” Proulx, and a son-in-law, Rick Miller.

A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 10 am from the Holy Trinity Parish with Rev. Fr, James Carlson and Deacon Gary Patelski presiding with inurnment in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home on Tuesday, from 2 to 8 pm. On Tuesday, a Prayer Vigil will be held at 7 pm. On Wednesday, Lois will lie in state at the church from 9 am until time of service. The family wishes to extend a special thank-you to the Compassus Hospice Team and the staff of Standish Ascension Health. A heartfelt thank you to Garner Dewey for all his help and support.
