Jenny Lockhart 44 of rural Harrison, formerly of Essexville, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at her home after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Jenny was born on March 5, 1967 in Bay City, Michigan, the daughter of Thomas and Joanne (Premo) Ames. Jenny was united in marriage to Mr. Steven Lockhart on May 31, 1997 in Essexville, Michigan.

            Jenny had resided in rural Harrison since 1997, coming from Essexville. Jenny was employed with Meijer of Mt. Pleasant for over twenty years. Jenny was an avid collector of Petoskey stones and enjoyed creating crafts with the stones she collected. She especially enjoyed creating bird houses with the Petoskey stones. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends at Canada Creek Ranch.

            Surviving Jenny is her loving husband of fourteen years, Steven Lockhart of Harrison, her parents, Thomas and Joanne Ames of Essexville, two daughters: Katie and Libby Lockhart of Harrison, one son, Andy Lockhart also of Harrison, one sister, Katie Sypek and husband Jeff of Oak Park, Illinois, one brother, Matt Ames of Auburn, Michigan, mother in law, Donna Lockhart of Dafter, Michigan, a sister in law, Diane Bishop and husband Dwight of Dafter, a brother in law, Bill Lockhart and wife Evelyn of Dafter, Michigan, a sister in law Krystal LaCrosse and husband Dave of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and several nieces, nephews and close friends. Jenny was preceded in death by her father in law, Jim Lockhart and one sister in law, Mary Lockhart.

            Funeral services for Jenny will be held Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from Brown Corners United Brethren in Christ Church, 5540 S. Clare Ave., Clare, MI  48617, with Reverend Chuck Malson officiating. Visitation will take place on Friday, September, 23, 2011 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Stocking Funeral Home, 165 W. Oak St., Harrison, MI  48625. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Harrison. Memorial gifts in memory of Jenny Lockhart may be considered to: Lockhart family childrens scholarship, Heartland Hospice or American Cancer Society for Pancreatic Cancer Research.
